| @indiablooms | Jan 07, 2022, at 12:58 am

Kolkata/IBNS: Amid the steep rise in COVID-19 cases in her state, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday announced inter-state movement will require RT-PCR tests.

"The next 15 days are crucial," said the Chief Minister.

West Bengal is witnessing a massive rise in cases days after its capital Kolkata witnessed mass gatherings on Christmas and New Year.

Banerjee, as she said, will meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually and the two would discuss the COVID-19 situation.

The state on Wednesday reported 14,022 fresh infections and 17 deaths apparently due to the contagion.
