Kolkata, Oct 9 (IBNS): A fire broke out at Haldia Petrochemicals Limited (HPL)'s plant in West Bengal's East Medinipur district on Sunday, triggering panic among the staffers and locals, reports said.

According to reports, the fire was first noticed in an ethylene gas pipeline at around 11:30 am.

As many as 10 fire tender engines rushed to the spot and firemen fought for hours to douse the blaze.

After preliminary investigation, fire officials said that the fire might have started due to a leakage in ethylene gas pipeline.

However, no casualty was reported in the incident.
