Vice President to visit China

New Delhi, June 20 (IBNS): Indian Vice-President Hamid Ansari will visit China on June 26.

" At the invitation of the Vice President of China, the Hon’ble Vice President of India Shri M. Hamid Ansari, will pay an official visit to China from June 26 to 30, 2014," the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement.

It said Ansari will hold bilateral discussions at Beijing on June 30 with his counterpart Vice President Li Yuanchao of China and call on President Xi Jinping.

He will also visit Xian and meet the leadership of Shaanxi Province.

"The Vice President will attend events to mark the 60th anniversary of ‘Panchsheel’ at Beijing on June 28-29, 2014," the Ministry said in a statement.

"The visit by Vice President Ansari, during the Year of India-China Friendly Exchanges, will strengthen the Strategic and Cooperative Partnership between the two countries," it said.
