Uttar Pradesh: Youth stabbed to death in Ballia

A 22-year-old youth was stabbed to death by unidentified person allegedly over petty dispute in Sahatwar area of Ballia district here in Uttar Pradesh, a senior police officer said here on Saturday.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Shankaran Anand said that Deepu Paswan, a resident of Adhaila village, was stabbed in Mudadeeh village late on Friday night.

"Deepu was initially taken to the community health center from where he was referred to the district hospital in a serious condition. Deepu died while being taken to the district hospital," they said.

He said that a case has been lodged against an unidentified person on the complaint of the deceased's mother.

"Raids are being carried out to arrest the suspects. The body has been sent for postmortem examination," he said.
