Uttar Pradesh: Three sentenced to life imprisonment for gang rape, murder of minor

Saharanpur, Oct 26 (UNI) A Special Court in Saharanpur on Saturday sentenced three people, accused of raping and killing a minor, with life imprisonment while also imposing a fine on them.

Special Judge (POCSO Act) Lalita Gupta sentenced Shiv Kumar, Indrajeet and Dharmveer to life imprisonment in a case pertaining to kidnapping, gang rape and murder of a minor. A fine of Rs 1 lakh,10,000 on Shiv Kumar and Indrajeet and Rs 1 lakh on Dharmveer was also imposed.


Government Advocate Meghraj Meena on Saturday said that an 11-year-old girl went missing from the Kutubsher area on January 2016. Her body was found a day later.


The post-mortem report had confirmed gang rape and unnatural sexual abuse with the girl. Kutubsher police had later arrested Shiv Kumar, Indrajeet and Dharmveer, residents of Ambedkar Colony.
