Uttar Pradesh: Couple killed in Moradabad mishap

Moradabad: A couple was killed when a motorcycle was hit by a canter truck in Bilari area of Moradabad district here in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, a police officer said.

Superintendent of Police (Rural) Sandeep Kumar Meena said that the canter truck hit the motorcycle coming from the opposite direction on Moradabad-Agra highway.

"Gaffar (55) and his wife Shamim Jahan (52) were killed in the accident. The canter driver escaped from the spot leaving behind his vehicle," he said.

He said that the incident took place near Sahaspur police outpost while the couple had left the house to distribute cards of their son Rizwan and Gaffar was going to his in-laws house in Bahjoi.
