US Embassy warns 'overstaying' Indians, directs them to respect terms of visa
The US Embassy in India has issued a stern message to those Indians who are staying beyond their authorised period of stay in the country, and warned that they may face visa revocation and even possible deportation.
"Respect the terms of your U.S. visa and your authorized period of stay in the United States. Remaining in the United States past your I-94 'Admit Until Date' can lead to severe consequences such as visa revocation, possible deportation, and ineligibility for future visas," the Embassy wrote on X.
"Overstaying may permanently affect your ability to travel, study, or work in the United States," it said.

The X post was made amid Donald Trump's recent tariff threat to India over its Russian oil import.
In a strong response to the Trump administration, India on Monday said the United States' tariff threats to the South Asian country over its Russian oil import are "unjustified and unreasonable".
Hitting back at the White House, India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) cleared it will take all necessary steps to safeguard its "national interests and economic security".
India accused the US and European Union jointly for its alleged double standards citing how both Washington and EU are engaged in trade and imports from Moscow.
