UP witnessing festival to free itself from Cong,SP,BSP rule: Modi

Lucknow, Mar 3 (IBNS): Campaigning for the BJP, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday said Uttar Pradesh is witnessing a festival around the assembly polls in order to free the state from the Congress,Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party rules.

"Elections in Uttar Pradesh has turned into an 'Utsav' of freeing the state from misrule of SP, BSP, Congress," Modi said.

Addressing a campaign in Mirzapur in the state,he said: "UP elections are about giving opportunities to the state's youth, ensuring safety of people, all round progress of poor."

Attacking the Samajwadi Party rule in the state, the Prime Minister said: "When Mulayam Singh ji was the Chief Minister of UP, he promised opening up of two new bridges, but why is it that they aren't made yet."

He said the north Indian state has scope of tourism development.

Prime Minister Modi was campaigning in the state for the seventh and final phase of the elections in which 40 Assembly constituencies will go to polls on Mar 8.
