UP: Constable commits suicide in Bahraich

Bahraich: Body of a female constable was recovered hanging from the ceiling under mysterious circumstances inside a police station in Visheshwarganj area of Bahraich district here in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, police sources said here.

Police sources said Nidhi Singh (26), a resident of Unnao district, was posted as constable in Visheshwarganj police station.

"On Friday morning when Nidhi did not come out of her quarter till late her colleagues went to inquire and found her body hanging from the ceiling," they said.

Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Gyananjay Singh reached the spot and launched an investigation. He said a forensic team was called on the spot.

"The reason behind the suicide is not clear and the matter is being investigated," he said.

Police sources said as per Nidhi's colleague everything was normal till Thursday night and she went to her room after having dinner.
