UP CM Yogi Adityanath makes surprise visit to police station
The priest-turned-politician, who on Wednesday declared in the Lok Sabha that a "lot of things will stop" in Uttar Pradesh, reportedly told police officials at the Hazaratganj police station to take their jobs seriously and spend extra hours in office.
Addressing the media outside Hazratganj, Lucknow’s biggest police station, Adityanath said, “This is the first audit, not the last.”
He said his visit was to “boost the morale of the cops so that the law prevails,” reported NDTV.
At the station, Adityanath reportedly inspected police records and the lock-up facility.
After taking oath, the CM held a meeting with the state police chief and asked him to prepare a blueprint within 15 days for better handling of the law and order siutation.
He said that one of the priorities of his Government is to work towards eradicating ‘goondaraj’ in the state.
