Unnao rape survivor critically injured in road accident in Uttar Pradesh

Rae Bareli, July 28 (UNI): Survivor of the Makhi gangrape case of Unnao was critically injured in an accident in Gurubakshganj police station limits on the Rae Bareli-Banda highway on Sunday.

In the accident that occurred due to collision between a car and a truck, the driver was severely injured and the victim's aunt and a lawyer were killed, police said.

They said the victims were going to meet their relatives at Rae Bareli jail when it was hit by a truck coming from the opposite direction.

While the aunt of the victim died on the spot, the lawyer Mahendra Singh succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. The driver and the victim were rushed to Trauma centre in Lucknow in a critical condition.

BJP legislator Kuldeep Singh Sengar, along with his brother are in Sitapur jail in connection with the gang-rape case in which CBI had chargesheeted them.

The occupants were going to Rae Bareli jail, where the victim's uncle is lodged.
