Union Home Minister meets different delegations at Leh today

Leh, Oct 3 (IBNS): Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday met over 15 political parties, religious communities and civil society groups at Leh.

They presented a joint memorandum for grant of UT status with legislature to Leh- Ladakh region.

Rajnath Singh mentioned that he saw real ‘unity in diversity’ amongst the people of Ladakh.

He mentioned that the entire country is proud of the people of Ladakh as they are maintaining cordial relations amongst different communities within the region and for being true and staunch nationalists, standing shoulder to shoulder with the Army and Security Forces in defending the country from both external and internal threats.

Rajnath Singh stated that this made him proud of all people of Ladakh.

The Home Minster also reviewed the security situation in the state with State Government officials who briefed the Home Minister on the current Law and Order situation in the state, and on the position of supply of essential commodities, as well as the movement of trucks carrying fruits to various parts of the country.

Union Home Minister is visiting Kargil tomorrow to meet different delegations and groups to assess the feelings of the people there.
