Kalka, Sept 12 (IBNS) At least two foreign tourists were killed and five others injured when a chartered train derailed on the Kalka-Shimla Railway line near Kalka, the gateway to the hill station Shimla, on Saturday, reports said.

The incident occurred when the train jumped rails  while passing through a curve between Kalka and Taksal.

It had left Kalka only minutes ago on its way to Shimla.

The two deceased were members of a 37-strong group of UK nationals.

The injured, including three Indians, have been admitted to  the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) in Chandigarh.

Senior officers rushed to spot while the rescue operation is underway.
