Two top KPLT militants nabbed in Karbi Anglong

Guwahati, Aug 6 (IBNS) : Security forces on Thursday have apprehended two top militants belonging to Karbi People's Liberation Tiger (KPLT) including its Finance Secretary in Assam's Karbi Anglong district, officials said.

Following a tip-off, joint team of the army and the police had launched operation at Bhithor Kalayani area in East Karbi Anglong on Thursday morning.

"The team noticed suspicious movement of two armed individuals on a village track. On being warned, the militants started running towards the dense bamboo forest. The security forces exercising restraint immediately condoned off the area and apprehended the militants, " a top police official said.

The nabbed militants were identified as Bikines Terang alias Denja alias Bonnet.

Security personnel have recovered one 9mm semi automatic machine gun with five rounds ammunition and incriminating documents like KPLT demand notes, money receipt from their possession.
