Two terrorists gunned down in Kashmir encounter

Srinagar, Aug 2 (IBNS): Two militants were gunned down in an encounter with security forces near a check-post in the Lolab valley of  Kashmir's Kupwara district, J & K police said.

"Two terrorists were killed in an encounter with J&K Police/ SF in Lolab Kupwara few minutes back," J& K Director General of Police SP Vaid tweeted without giving details.

Media reports quoted police officials as saying that the gun battle took place after the militants opened fire on security personnel on patrol duty.

In recent months, the state has witnessed a huge spurt in terror activities. On Wednesday, two terrorists were killed by security forces in an encounter in Anantnag district. Another encounter between the terrorists and security forces was reported on Wednesday in Kupwara.
