Two policemen killed in militant attack in the heart of Srinagar

Srinagar, May 22 (IBNS) Two policemen, including an officer, were shot dead when heavily armed militants attacked a police party in Srinagar, the capital of Jammu & Kashmir on Monday.

A Senior police official told IBNS on phone that some militants attacked police party of Zadibal Police Station in the  Hazratbal area of  central Srinagar when it was on  daily routine duty.    

"Two cops,  including an officer,  lost their lives, while some others were injured,” he said.

The slain policemen are ASI Nazeer Ahmad and Constable Bashir Ahmad.

The attack reportedly took place in a thickly populated area.
