Two oil tankers airlifted to trouble-torn Manipur

Guwahati, Jan 23 (IBNS): To ease the fuel crisis in trouble-torn and poll-bound Manipur, the Centre airlifted two oil tankers to the north eastern Indian state on Sunday evening.

According to reports, an Indian Air Force's cargo plan carried the two oil tankers to Imphal.

Two oil tankers carrying 20 and 13 kilo litres of diesel was brought to Manipur by the cargo plane.

Manipur is facing shortage of essential commodities, specially petroleum products and medicines, following the on-going economic blockade imposed by the United Naga Council (UNC) since November 1 last.

Assembly polls in Manipur will be held on March 4 and 8, 2017. and the north eastern Indian state
