Guwahati, Aug 28 (IBNS): Security forces on Friday apprehended two militants belonging to Karbi People's Liberation Tiger (KPLT) in Assam's Karbi Anglong district, officials said.
Following a tip-off, police and army launched joint operation at Bhitor Kalyani area under Chokihola police station in the hill district and nabbed the militants, who were identified as Mona Dera alias Sampri Dera and Matheus Ronghe alias Sarlm.

Security forces recovered one AK 56 Rifle, one Single Barrel Rifle (Factory Made), one Magazine of AK 56 Rifle, thirty five 7.62mm Live Rounds, one Mobile Phone and incriminatory documents in possession from them.

“This apprehension is bound to give great relief to the innocent people of the area, as these two individuals since a long time had become a  synonym of terror and had been indulging in reckless extortion and kidnapping,” a top police official said.
