Two killed in Jharkhand police firing during clash over compensation for displaced people

Ramgarh, Jharkhand, Aug 30 (IBNS) : Two persons were killed and several were injured after when police opened fire during a clash with a mob near a thermal power plant in Jharkhand's Ramgarh district on Monday, reports said.

The incident took place in Gola area over an argument between officials of Inland Power Limited (IPL) and local people over providing jobs and giving compensation to the displaced people.

Prohibitory orders have been clamped in the area following the incident.


Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das has  sought a report from the DGP.
