Two hardcore NSCN(Khaplang) militants killed, one injured in gun fight with SF in Nagaland

Guwahati, July 16 (IBNS): Two hardcore militants belonging to NSCN (Khaplang) were killed and another was injured in a fierce gun fight with security forces in Phek district of Nagaland on Wednesday night, officials said on Thursday.

Defence spokesman based in Guwahati said that, following a tip-off, army had launched massive operation at Avangkhu village under Meluri sub division in Phek district in Nagaland on Wednesday night.

"When troops reached the remote area, militants who hiding at the area fired upon the security personnel and forced us to exchange bullets in which two militants killed on spot and another injured, " the Defence official said.

Security forces recovered rifles including an AK-47 and large quantity of ammunition in possession from them.

The official said that, several school boys of Avangkhu and Pokhunguri villages were forced recruitment by NSCN(Khaplang) militants.
