Two drowned, 5 others missing in boat mishap

Lakhisarai, Jul 10 (UNI) Two people drowned and five others went missing when their boat capsized in Kiul river near Chanania village under Suryagarha police station area in the district today.

Police said that around 70 people were crossing Kiul river to do agriculture related work on the other side when their boat capsized in the midstream of the river. Sources said, while others swam to safety ,two people met their watery grave in the river and five others went missing.

The deceased had been identified as Urmila Devi (45) and Rakesh Kumar (12).

Lakhisarai sub divisional officer Murli Prasad was at the spot while local divers were trying to find whereabouts of the missing people, police added.
