Twin Political murders: Kerala Police on high alert, deploys 1,000 personnel in Alappuzha district

Thiruvananthapuram/UNI: In the wake of twin political murders which took place within a span of 10 hours, that rocked Kerala, 10,000 police personnel have been deployed in Alappuzha district on Sunday to avoid any untoward incidents.

 

Police are on high alert and tight security arrangements in place at the sensitive areas across the state.

Police sources said, 11 Socialist Democratic Party of India (SDPI) activists were taken into custody in connection with the killing of BJP OBC Morcha State Secretary Ranjith Sreenivasan, who was hacked to death early this morning.

However, the police did not disclose the details of SDPI activists who are under police custody.

Meanwhile, two BJP workers have been taken into custody relating to the murder of SDPI state secretary KS Shan who was hacked to death on Saturday night.
