Christchurch, Nov 13 (IBNS): A tsunami hit New Zealand following an earthquake which rocked the nation on Sunday, media reports said.

An earthquake, measuring 7.8 on the Richter Scale, hit New Zealand.

The quake jolted the nation at 11:02:56 UTC.

"Tsunami gauges have recorded a sizeable tsunami wave of around 2 metres according to the Kaikoura gauge," Weatherwatch.co.nz. reported.
