Srinagar's Electric Busses

Trial run for electric buses to commence shortly in city: DC Srinagar

Srinagar/IBNS: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz, chaired a meeting with the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) Srinagar for route planning for the proposed electric bus service in Srinagar.

The Deputy Commissioner who is the also chairman of RTA Srinagar directed the concerned officers to prepare a comprehensive plan regarding finalising routes and stations for electric buses.

He also ordered for mapping of charging stations for the electric buses.

The DC further asked the officers of line departments to place all necessary preparations for trial run of electric buses.

The officers were directed to roll out an effective action plan for successful operation of electric buses.

Regional Transport Officer were instructed to conduct an exercise with consultation with SRTC, Traffic Police and other concerned for finalising an efficient route plan in wake of the observation raised in the meeting, so, that better traffic management system is implemented to overcome city's traffic issues.
