Toronto: Five Indians die in road mishap

Toronto: Five Indian nationals have died in a road mishap in Toronto city of Canada, Indian High Commissioner to Canada Ajay Bisaria said on Monday.

Ajay Bisaria said two others were hurt in the accident.

He condoled the death of the Indian nationals.

"Heart-breaking tragedy in Canada: 5 Indians students passed away in an auto accident near Toronto on Saturday. Two others in hospital. Deepest condolences to the families of the victims. @IndiainToronto team in touch with friends of the victims for assistance," he tweeted.

Inderjit Bal, President of the Brampton Crematorium and Visitation Centre, is shepherding the deceased's friends close to home. 

"(It's their) first time in Canada, homesickness. A lot of pressure with studying, working, just paying their fees, loneliness," said Bal as quoted by CTV News. 

"Emotionally, I'll say they were broken," he added. 

21-year-old Jasprinder Singh, 22-year-old Karanpal Singh, 23-year-old Mohi Chouhan and Pawan Kumar, 24-year-old Harpreet Singh were declared dead at the scene, reports said.
