TN govt to introduce helicopter ambulance service: CM
Chennai, Aug 30 (UNI) The Tamil Nadu government on Friday announced that it will soon have an helicopter ambulance service to provide timely treatment to people in far off places.
The service will be provided by King's Medical College hospital in London, Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami said on Friday.
Speaking at the Kings Hospital in London, he said the state government will take steps to introduce helicopter ambulance services to provide treatment to those in far off places.
"The government will take steps and definitely implement it," he said.
Palaniswami, who is on a three-nation tour of UK, USA and Dubai to sign MoUs in various sector and to attract investments into the State, also lauded the helicopter ambulance services offered by the King's hospital and said a similar facility would be put in place in Tamil Nadu.
Stating that precious lives were being saved by Kings Hospital through its helicopter ambulance service by transporting patients from distant places, he said all efforts would be made to introduce a similar facility in the State.
The Chief Minister also promised all support to the Kings College Hospital to set up its branch in Chennai to offer quality treatment to the people.
