Thane building collapse kills 9

Thane, July 29 (IBNS): At least nine people were killed as a three-storey building collapsed in Maharashtra's Thane district on Tuesday night, reports said.

Several people were feared to be trapped under the debris. Rescue work is currently going on to help the victims.

The building, 'Matru Krupa' located in Thakurli, collapsed at around 10.40 pm when it was raining heavily, reports said.
 
The injured people have been admitted to hospital.

A 50-member team from the National Disaster Response Force are engaged in rescue operation which is being hampered by rain since Tuesday night.
