Tamil Nadu: Setback for EPS in bid to takeover AIADMK leadership

| @indiablooms | Jun 23, 2022, at 05:07 pm

Chennai/IBNS: Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E Paneerselvam late Wednesday night received a setback from the Madras High Court in his bid to take over the leadership of his party AIADMK, media reports said.

The high court has restrained the party's general council from taking any decision on the single leadership formula which EPS was pushing.

In its interim order late last night, the high court ruled the party's highest decision making body can adopt 23 resolutions already listed.

After the court had refused to restrain the general council Tuesday, a general council member, named Shanmugam, had challenged the order.

The non-restraint order had raised hope for EPS whose opponent in the party, O Paneerselvam is favouring a dual leadership formula for the running of the party.
