Swachh Bharat: PM Modi to address, honour women volunteers

New Delhi, Mar 8 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address a conclave of women sarpanch and Swachh Bharat volunteers on the occasion of International Women's Day.

"Looking forward to addressing a conclave of women Sarpanchs & honouring trailblazers who have worked towards a Swachh Bharat. #MyCleanIndia," the Prime Minister's tweet read.

"GoI’s various initiatives seek to facilitate economic empowerment, self-reliance & social equality as far as Nari Shakti is concerned," a subsequent tweet read.

The Prime Minister also took to social media to announce 100 districts as open defecation free.

"I am glad that the Swachh Bharat Mission is a mass movement, with over 100 districts now Open Defecation Free. #MyCleanIndia," his tweet read.
