Suspected Naga militants gun down villager along Assam-Manipur border

Guwahati: One villager was shot dead by suspected Naga militants along Assam-Manipur border today.

The incident took place at Rongmai Basti area under Jirighat police station in Assam's Cachar district.

Cachar district Superintendent of Police Ramandeep Kaur said suspected Naga militants fired upon a villager at that area and died on spot.

The deceased person was also an ex-militant.

Police have rushed to the spot.
