Sushma Swaraj commences her Vietnam, Cambodia tour today

New Delhi, Aug 26 (IBNS): External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj on Sunday commenced her visit to Vietnam and Cambodia.

She will visit two nations from Aug 27 to Aug 30.

"In Vietnam (27-28 August), she will co-chair the 16th meeting of the Joint Commission along with her counterpart, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, H.E. Mr. Pham Binh Minh. She will also call on Prime Minister H.E. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc. On 27th August, EAM will inaugurate the 3rd edition of the Indian Ocean Conference," read an official statement issued by the External Affairs Ministry.

In Cambodia (29-30 August), she will have a bilateral meeting with Prak Sokhonn, Senior Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Kingdom of Cambodia and call on Prime Minister Hun Sen and President of Senate Say Chhum.

This will be EAM’s first official visit to Cambodia.

The visit of EAM to Vietnam and Cambodia will provide an opportunity to hold in-depth discussions with the political leadership on a wide range of global, regional and bilateral issues and advance our strategic engagement with these countries and ASEAN region.
