Sugata Marjit joins as new interim VC of Calcutta University

Kolkata, Jul 15 (IBNS): Newly appointed interim Vice-Chancellor of Calcutta University Sugata Marjit has taken charge on Wednesday.

After joining his duty Sugata Marjit told IBNS, "The government has trust on me and that is why they have appointed me here. I will try to do my best and try to handle the problems with special care."

"To maintain a good education environment, teachers and students should concentrate on studies only inside the campus, not in agitation-demonstration-rally," he said.

Suranjan Das was handling the post from 2008.

The government has chosen Suranjan Das as the new Vice-Chancellor of Jadavpur University. He has not take the charge yet.

"When I will join JU, you all will be informed," Suranjan Das told IBNS.
