Student killed in West Bengal

Kolkata, July 5 (IBNS): The body of a student, who was protesting against anti-social activities in his area, was found by the police beside a railway track close to the Bamangachi station in West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district on Saturday.

Sourav Chowdhury's family members alleged he was murdered by miscreants.

According to reports, he was missing since Friday night.

The police recovered his mutilated body from the railway track between Bamangachi and Dattapukur.

The police said a murder case has been filed in connection to the incident.

Protesting against the incident, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has  called for a 12-hour strike at Bamongachi area.

A state BJP team will visit the area on the same day.

No one has been arrested in connection with the case  so far.
