Still long way to go: PM Modi on BJP's completion of four years in power
Cuttack, May 26 (IBNS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) may have completed four years in power, but Prime Minister Narendra Modi is looking for a long run at his office.
Addressing a rally in Cuttack, Odisha on Saturday, Modi said: "Its not a matter of four years, still a long way to go."
Modi has highlighted several developmental works in the fourth year of his government.
The PM has taken a dig at the united Opposition as well.
Modi said: "Our steps against black money have united all disparate, contradictory opposition parties."
The PM has also said the united Opposition is made up of all corrupt leaders.
The BJP is trying to wrest power in Odisha, which is now under the rule of Biju Janata Dal (BJD).
In 2014, the BJP had stormed to power by winning 282 Lok Sabha seats to form a full-majority government at the Centre after 30 years.
The BJP had ended a 10-year rule of the United Progressive Alliance (UPA)- led by the Congress- at the Centre in 2014.
Though the BJP had lost a few Lok Sabha seats in the recent by-polls, the saffron outfit is still the most dominant political party in the country.
However, Narendra Modi and the BJP are likely to face a united Opposition in the next General Elections, scheduled to be held in 2019.
Several disparate opposition forces are teaming up with an aim to defeat the BJP in the next Lok Sabha polls.
