SSB jawan on Nagaland election duty dies in road mishap

Kohima, Feb 28 (IBNS): A Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) jawan on election duty in Nagaland reportedly died and several others were injured in a road mishap on Wednesday morning.

According to reports, the vehicle carrying the army men skidded off the road and fell down more than 80 ft at Kuthur village area under Tuensang district.

The polling party was travelling from Thokoknyu to Tuensang.

The deceased has been identified as SSB jawan Atul Kumar.

Among the injured, two are said to be critical.

Meanwhile, over 80 percent voter turnout was registered in Nagaland, while 85 percent was registered in Meghalaya.

The assembly polls in both the north eastern states were held on Feb 27.
