SP Vaid appointed as new Director General of Police for Jammu and Kashmir

Jammu, Dec 28 (IBNS): Jammu and Kashmir government on Wednesday appointed Dr SP Vaid as new Director General of Police (DGP) of the state.

He will succeed K Rajendra Kumar.

His three-year term is ending this month.

The decision to appoint Vaid as DGP was taken in a cabinet meeting in Jammu on Wednesday.

"The State cabinet has approved the appointment of Vaid as new DGP," Cabinet spokesman Naeem Akther said

Vaid is a 1986-batch IPS officer of J&K cadre who is presently working as Special DGP (Law and Order).
