Sonowal urges Assam govt employees to consider starting working hours from 9-30 am
Guwahati, Dec 21 (IBNS): Calling on the employees to extend full cooperation to the government in fulfilling the objectives of making Assam best in all aspects, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal on Thursday urged the state government employees to consider starting working hours in government offices from 9.30 a.m in view of early sun rise in these parts of the country.
Laid foundation stone of Sadou Asom Karmachari Parishad’s headquarter “Karmachari Bhawan” at Panjabari in Guwahati, the Assam CM said that, if Assam is to become one of the top states in the country and develop its socio-economic condition, then the government employees must set an example of work culture which would inspire the young generation to participate in the nation building process through hardwork and dedication.
Calling on the employees to help the government in rooting out corruption from the system, the Assam CM acknowledged the support of the employees in the campaign against corrupt practices undertaken by the state government.
“Only with the help of its employees the state government can achieve the goals of a pollution free, corruption free, illegal immigrants free and terrorism free Assam,” Sonowal said.
The Assam CM urged the state government employees to set an example of efficient work culture before the young generation of the state and contribute towards the resurgence of the state’s economy.
Hoping that the Karmachari Bhawan would provide a platform to the state government employees to hold meetings, congregations etc and to carry out Parishad’s official works from a permanent address, Sonowal said that the Bhawan would be symbol of the employees’ prestige and it would be one of the landmarks of the city.
Informing about the Global Investors’ Summit to be held in the state in February, the Assam CM said that the state government has been organising roadshows in different parts of the country and the world for bringing big ticket investments to the state and the government has left no stone unturned to give a good impression of the state as an investment destination to the visiting delegates to the Summit.
President of Sadou Asom Karmachari Parishad Basab Kalita thanked the state government for felicitating the construction of the Karmachari Bhawan building and hoped that PWD would maintain best standards in the construction work of the building.
He also thanked DONER for approving an amount of Rs 8.85 lakh for the construction of the Bhawan and said that it would fulfil a long felt of need of the government employees of the state.
CEM of Rabha Hasong Autonomus Council Tankeswar Rabha, Housefed Charirman Ranjit Dass, MLAs Ronuj Pegu, Bimal Bora, Commissioner and Secretary of PWD JA Ahmed were also present on the occasion among others.
