Son beats his mother to death for opposing drinking habit in Uttar Pradesh

A 45-year-old woman was beaten to death by her son when she opposed his drinking habit in Tundla area of Firozabad district here in Uttar Pradesh, police sources said here on Sunday.

Police sources said that Rakesh Kumar, a resident of Mohammadabad village, is an addict, which was being opposed by her mother Sushila Devi.

"On Saturday night Rakesh reached his home in an inebriated state on which Sushila raised objections," they said.

Police sources said that Rakesh thrashed Sushila, injuring her seriously.

"Sushila was admitted to the hospital where she succumbed to her injuries on Sunday," they said.

Superintendent of Police (City) Sarvesh Kumar Mishra said that a case has been lodged and three teams have been constituted to arrest Rakesh.
