Shiv Sena criticises lack of coordination, demands more importance in NDA

New Delhi, Jul 21 (IBNS) Ruling National Democratic Alliance-partner Shiv Sena that has been sulking over the BJP "hegemony" in the coalition has demanded the post of NDA convenor, media reports says.

The oldest ally of the Bharaitya Janata Party staked its claim at a coordination meeting of the NDA on Monday even as Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked the party that the coalition must appear united in the monsoon session of parliament that begins on Tuesday.

The Sena reportedly made a sharp criticism of the "lack of coordination with allies".

The Prime Minister  reportedly asked BJP president Amit Shah to look into the demands of allies like the Sena and Upendra Kushwaha from Bihar, who had also openly complained that NDA partners had been neglected.

Sena spokesperson Sanjay Raut said :  "The positive mood that was there for this government 14 months ago exists no more."

, "We are happy that 14 months after government formation, the Prime Minister has called an NDA meet," he has been quoted as saying.

The Sena's grievance was that it was not  being consulted on strategy to tackle opposition protests against BJP leaders Sushma Swaraj, Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Vasundhara Raje.
