Shashi Tharoor expresses disbelief over India's poor performance in second Test

New Delhi, Aug 13 (IBNS): Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has expressed his disbelief and shock after Indian batsmen collapsed in the second innings as England defeated the visitors by an innings and 159 runs in the second Test match of the ongoing series.

Tharoor expressed his hopes that India will come back in the remaining series.

"One can't help a feeling of disbelief at the abject failure of our much-vaunted batsmen in England. There's shock, denial, grief, & finally a resigned sense of inevitability. But a corner of one's mind hopes that it's just a collective bad dream from which we'll soon wake up," Tharoor tweeted.

Tharoor even said that he hopes that Shikhar Dhawan , who was dropped for the second Test after a poor show at Edgbaston, will return to the squad.

He also expressed his wish of seeing young Rishabh Pant making Test debut in Nottingham.

England have taken 2-0 lead in the series.
