Seven year old girl sexually assaulted and murdered in Coimbatore

Coimbatore, Mar 27 (UNI) A seven-year-old girl who was missing and found dead with injuries near her house at Pannimadai in the district was confirmed that she was sexually assaulted in post mortem report and police are yet to find the culprit.

Police sources said on Wednesday here that a seven-year-old girl, who went missing on Monday was found murdered near her house in Pannimadai area on Tuesday.

The girl was a 1st grade student and was last seen when she was playing in front of her house on Monday evening.

The family members lodged a missing complaint and launched a frantic search in the locality throughout the night. Her body was found 50 metre from the house in the mornig with injuries on her head. Police said she was strangled to death.


Police are yet to zero on the suspect.

Parents and relatives of the girl staged protest in front of Coimbatore Medical college (CMC) hospital since Tuesday afternoon where the body was brought for autopsy. They demanded the police to arrest culprit immediately.
