BJP's Harpreet Kaur Babla defeated AAP candidate Prem Lata by two votes.

The BJP won with 19 votes as opposed to AAP-Congress' 17 votes.

The Chandigarh Municipal Corporation has 35 members including one Chandigarh MP (Congress) who has the right to cast his mandate as an ex-officio member.

Recently, Congress councillor Gurbax Rawat switched to the BJP.

The elections started at 11:20 am and concluded at 12:19 pm.
