Sena has little bargaining power for dy-CM,s post, says BJP

New Delhi, Oct 20 (IBNS): With the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) reviewing options to forge a post-poll tie-up to form government in Maharashtra, a section of the party leadership feels the Sena must accept that it has got little bargaining power to demand the post Deputy Chief Minister, media reports said.

The BJP fell short of a majority in Maharashtra by 22 seats. The saffron brigade won altogether 123 Assembly seats in Maharashtra. It was widely expected that BJP would go with former ally Shiv Sena which won 63 seats, reports said.

In Maharashtra, all previous alliance partners - BJP and Shiv Sena of NDA and Congress and NCP of UPA - fought elections individually after failing to forge pre-poll tie-up.

Sources said that the Sena was being seen as a natural choice for the BJP to go ahead with in Maharashtra.

Earlier, when the BJP and the Shiv Sena last ruled the state together between 1995 and 1999, the latter was the lead player in the coalition.  The BJP was the junior partner then.
