Security review ahead of PM Modi’s Assam visit on May 26

Guwahati, May 12 (IBNS) : Security agencies has taken adequate security measures in Assam and other parts of the North Eastern India ahead of Prime Minsiter Narendra Modi’s visit to Assam on May 26 next.

Modi will address the nation from Guwahati on May 26 on the marks of completion of three years of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led NDA government.

During his day-long visit to the state, PM Modi will inaugurate the Dhola-Sadiya bridge and to lay foundation stones of AIIMS and a major institution.

BJP-led Assam government will also celebrate its first anniversary on the same day.

Ahead of PM Modi’s visit to Assam, a high level security review meeting was held at the Army’s 4 corps in Tezpur on Friday.

Assam Special DG Kuladhar Saikia, Assam Chief Secretary VK Pipersenia, principal secretary of state home department LS Changson, top officials of army, paramilitary forces, Assam police were present in the meeting.

Recently, the Intelligence Bureau (IB) alerted the security agencies for probable terror attack in the NE region during PM’s visit.

A top official of Union Home ministry said that, following the IB input Union Home Ministry has asked the security agencies and state police to take adequate security measures and to launch massive operation at all suspected areas.
