Kulgam: A gun battle erupted between security forces and militants in Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir, on Thursday.

Two militants are believed to be trapped in the Samnoo Nehama area as clashes unfolded between the opposing sides.

The Kashmir Zone Police said that the encounter began in the Damhal Hanji Pora area of Kulgam.

In October, security forces eliminated two militants in a clash in Kulgam, who according to police had affiliation with Hizbul Mujahideen.
