Security forces recover huge cache of arms, ammunition from J&K

Srinagar, July 29 (IBNS) Security forces recovered a huge cache of arms, ammunition from a forested area in north Kashmir on Wednesday, said an Army official.

 “Based on a specific input, the Army and the police launched a joint search operation in the morning of 28 July, 2015 in a forested area near  Mugalpura village, approximately 8 km from Kupwara town, which resulted in recovery of a huge cache of arms, ammunition and war like stores,” a defense spokesman said.

“A hideout was unveiled under the trunk of a tree which resulted in the recovery of 1 AK 56 Rifle, Pika Belt without rounds, 1 Chinese pistol, 7 UBGL Grenades, 2 Pakistani Grenades, 2 Smoke Grenades, 1 Chinese Grenade, M-16 Rifle Rounds - 54 and 2 Radio Sets,” the spokesman added.
