Saradha: TMC minded intellectuals organize rally against CBI probe

Kolkata, Nov 28 (IBNS): When the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is arresting one after another accused persons in Saradha probe and forwarding the investigation, Trinamool Congress (TMC) minded intellectuals organized a rally against CBI probe in Saradha scam on Friday, after getting TMC supremo Mamata Banerjee's direction.

The protest march started from Nandan premises and ended in front of Academy of Fine Arts in Kolkata. Few sports persons, theater actors including the travel and tourism minister of WB government Bratya Basu, tollywood actors like Deb, Soham, Hiran, Mimi Chakraborty etc., film director Raj Chakraborty, producer Srikant Meheta took part in the short-distance rally of only 1 km.

Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee also took part in a rally for same reason on last Monday and he directed to the intellectuals to organize a rally.

Some general people also joined in the rally on Friday. But maximum of them did not know about the reason of this protest march. Many of them came only to see superstar Dev.

Notable thing is that even the organizers did not tell clearly about the reason of their protest.

Though the distance of the rally was very short, but the 500 men's rally took more than one hour to complete. Due to this protest march severe traffic jam was created in the area.

The opponents animadverted of this protest rally. Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) leader and MP Md. Salim told that organizing this rally, intellectuals insulted the word 'intellect'.

West Bengal president of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Rahul Sinha told that the rally was organized only to support 'thieves' who took the money from Saradha chit fund company.

State BJP has also called a counter-rally on Dec 2 which will start from College Square and will end at Esplanade in Kolkata. As well as intellectuals, BJP has requested to all general people of the society to join their rally.
