Saradha-terror slur: Centre contradicts BJP chief, Mamata hits back

New Delhi, Dec 3 (IBNS): With the Centre contradicting Amit Shah's theory of linkage between the multi-crore Saradha chit fund scam money and the Burdwan blast, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday hit back at the BJP chief for his alleged claims.
"Some people always finds excuse to give bamboo on the backside. Bamboos grow in jungle and are used for building houses. But when you try to give bamboo to somebody, and if backfires, it actually chases you. Only then you realise the real fun.”

She said that speeches and statements are only welcomed if they are true.

Causing an embarrassment to Amit Shah, the Centre on Wednesday stated that there was no evidence that the money of Saradha chit fund scam was used in India-Bangladesh terror network that was exposed after an accidental blast in Burdwan as claimed by the BJP chief in his Kolkata rally.

The statement came as a stark contradiction to Shah's claim in Kolkata by the central government led by the BJP.

“The investigation has so far not revealed any such transaction where money was routed to Bangladesh to fund terrorist activities,” Union Minister of State for Personnel Jitendra Singh told the Rajya Sabha in a written response.

Amit Shah on Sunday at a rally in Kolkata linked the Saradha scam to the recent Burdwan blasts.

“Saradha chit fund money was used in the Burdwan (Bardhaman) blast. The NIA is not being allowed to probe the blast properly. Hurdles are being created. It is being done in order to save TMC leaders who are involved in the blast,” Shah had said, attacking the Trinamool Congress, in Kolkata.

Meanwhile, West Bengal's ruling Trinamool Congress is also mulling a legal action against Shah for the allegation .

"Truth has been established. Lies of BJP have been exposed," tweeted TMC leader Subrata Mukherjee quoting Minister of State in the PMO Jitendra Singh saying "no Saradha link whatsoever to Bangladesh terror."

"TMC mulling legal action against Amit Shah for his comments that Sarada money was used for terror," tweeted Mukherjee.

Earlier, in the ongoing feud between TMC and BJP, the former alleged links between Amit Shah and the Sahara Group.

TMC said the Sahara Chief was arrested and a red diary was recovered where they heard that name of Amit Shah featured.
