Salman Khan's “raped woman” remark triggers controversy, women's panel gives seven days to apologise

Mumbai, June 21 (IBNS): Bollywood superstar Salman Khan found himself in deep trouble over making remarks on 'raped women', triggering protest and even the Women's Commission threatened to summon the actor if he does not apologise on his remark.

The Dabang hero triggered a massive  outrage inviting fusillades flying at him particularly on the social media  for his comment that training for his wrestling movie Sultan left him feeling like a "raped woman".

The Bollywood super star, who was recently interviewed by Spotboye, was quoted as saying, "When I used to walk out of the ring, after the shoot, I used to feel like a raped woman. I couldn’t walk straight."

The comment drew flak from the females as they demanded apology from the star for being 'inhuman'.

Reports said The actor has been given seven days by the National Commission for Women to apologise.

Meanwhile, women protesters demonstrated outside Khan's residence.

"He should apologise for the remark," a protester told media.

Salim Khan, father of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan  issued an apology on Tuesday for his son's  controversial remark in which he compared his hectic shooting schedule for movie ‘Sultan’ with a “raped woman”.

“Undoubtedly what Salman said is wrong, the simili, example and the context. The intention was not wrong. Nevertheless I apologise on behalf of his family his fans & his friends," Salim Khan wrote on twitter.

"Forgiveness is to pardon the unpardonable or it is no virtue at all,” the veteran scriptwriter said. .

“To err is human to forgive divine. Today on Intl yoga day lets not run our shops on this mistake,” he added.

Salman Khan, known for acting Box Office hit movies every year, will soon be seen playing the role of a wrestler in 'Sultan'.
