RSS activist murdered in Bengaluru, bandh called today

Bengaluru, Oct 17 (IBNS) : Prohibitory orders have been promulgated in some parts of Bengaluru and a bandh has been called in protest against the murder of Rashtriy swyam Sevak activist Rudresh R on Sunday.

According to reports, Rudresh R was hacked to death by two unidentified motorbike-borne men near a shopping complex in the city around noon.

Rudresh was returning from a meeting of the RSS.

The assailants  knocked Rudresh off his bike and attacked him with machetes before escaping leaving him fatally wounded.

Rudresh was pronounced dead after he was taken to hospital.

An investigation into the murder is on with police looking into all possible motives for the crime.

Protesting the murder, the  RSS has called for a shutdown in the city's Shivajinagar constituency, where  Rudresh led an RSS unit.

The police have banned large gatherings in the area as a precautionary measure.
